2011 - EXMOUTH TO BROOME VIA THE BLUE MARLIN HIGHWAY

Dates for the charter are:

Depart Exmouth on the morning of Tuesday 29 March 2011

Arrive Broome on the morning of Friday 8 April 2011

The itinerary for this trip can be varied but is based mostly on targeting Marlin.  We will not be towing tenders so most of the fishing will be done from Reel Teaser. There will be a small tender onboard for shore excursions etc. The weather at this time of the year is generally great and should not have an impact on our activities which can include some or all of the following:

Exmouth – Heavy tackle Gamefishing for Marlin. Other species also targeted include Yellowfin, Wahoo & Sailfish. Bottom fishing for Red Emperor and other reef species. Deep water jigging for Goldband and Ruby Snapper. Night fishing for Broadbill Swordfish.

Long Island – Snorkelling and free diving for crayfish. All the Exmouth activities can take place here also. 

Monte Bello Islands – Here we can do some more free diving for crayfish. There is some great reef fishing targeting Spangled Emperor as well as many other species. Off the Islands we will target an area called the Rankin Bank, we have had good success with Marlin and other game fish in this area. From here there is a long steam to the Rowley Shoals, however we can troll lures during any daylight steaming. 

Rowley Shoals – Many fishing and snorkelling activities can take place here. The sailfish can be a little quieter at this time of year but all the other species are found in good numbers. We have had great success with large Yellowfin and Wahoo on these early trips. As we will not be towing tenders all fishing including popper fishing will be done from Reel Teaser. Popper fishing will be done at low tide along the outer edges of the atolls.

As you can see there are a number of different things you can do or target. It is a long charter but there is also a huge distance to cover. Once onboard we can discuss in more detail which areas you would like to spend more time at etc.

Llive-aboard charter rate for 2011 is $6000 per day and therefore the total cost of this trip would be $60,000, however, as this trip does have more travel time than our usual charters we have dropped the rate to $4,200 per day making it $7,000 per angler for a group of 6 for the 10 days.
